Dr. Barbara Barke, DVM
Veterinarian & Owner
Dr. Barbara Barke graduated from Washington State University in 1985. After spending a year practicing in Pomeroy, Washington, she purchased Gold Beach Veterinary Clinic in June of 1986 from Dr. Ray Rediske. With decades of experience, Dr. Barke has cared for a wide range of animals, with a strong focus on Equine medicine for much of her career. In 2019, due to mobility challenges, she transitioned away from equine practice. Today, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care exclusively for small animals.
Jim Bridge DVM CVA FAAO
Veterinarian
Jim Bridge DVM CVA FAAO joined Gold Beach Veterinary Clinic in January 2026. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He later pursued advanced training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute in Florida and became certified in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2008. In 2015, he was recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Ozone Therapy. Dr. Bridge focuses on small animal medicine with a particular emphasis on regenerative therapies. He previously owned and operated Dana Capistrano Animal Clinic in Southern California for 32 years before relocating to Southern Oregon.

Jamie Nourse
Vet Technician & Office Manager
Jamie Nourse joined the team in 2018, beginning as a receptionist and advancing to the roles of veterinary technician and office manager. In her multifaceted position, Jamie continues to support both the administrative and clinical sides of the practice. She assists with scheduling appointments, client communication, and a wide range of patient care duties, including animal handling, blood draws, radiography, surgical assistance, and coordinating patient discharges.
Taylor Barke
Veterinary Technician
Taylor Barke has been a dedicated veterinary technician since 2012. Having grown up around Gold Beach Veterinary Clinic, he has been exposed to animal care at an early age. Taylor is certified in radiology and plays an integral role in the clinic’s daily operations. He assists with surgical procedures, radiographs, performs dental cleanings, and ensures the safe handling and comfort of patients during their visits.
Judy Bell
Receptionist
Judy Bell joined our team in February 2026 as a receptionist. She brings valuable experience from her earlier career as a veterinary receptionist beginning in 1973, followed by several years assisting with animal care. She later advanced to the role of veterinary technician. After an extended break from the field, we are pleased to welcome her back as a Receptionist, where her help, knowledge, and experience benefit our clients.
